Harvest House Co Founder Karen Grady

In 1998 Harvest House founder Karen Grady was deeply moved when she heard the story of a local pastor finding an abandoned baby in a garbage can. From that moment, she determined in her heart to provide a sanctuary where mothers considering abandonment could bring their children. It took 10 years, but in 2008 her dream of a children’s home became a reality as we opened up our beautiful new building with house mothers chosen from our Harvest House congregation showering love and affection on traumatized children. Our children’s home is operated under the strict guidelines of the Philippine Government and is overseen by a director that has a college degree in Sociology and advanced training. All house mothers have to undergo government training as well to be able to work with the children. The Philippine Government provides no financial support for any of the children and Harvest House is required to provide a complete medical and physiological examination of each child upon their arrival at our expense. Many of our children arrive in a very traumatized condition and require special attention and love which is abundantly supplied by all of those living on the Harvest House campus where the children’s home is located.
